Florida First Lady Ann Scott returns to school reading circuit in Pasco, Hernando
Florida First Lady Ann Scott "loves" to read to students.
It's a passion that brought her to schools in Pasco and Hernando counties on Wednesday, and will keep her going through the rest of her husband's term, Scott told second graders at Odessa Elementary School. Scott's recent trip to a Hillsborough school, which ended ended with apologies for inappropriate words in her chosen book, hasn't deterred her.
"I'm going to continue to visit all the schools that requested me," Scott said.
At Odessa Elementary, Scott read from younger fare -- Gaston and How Full Is Your Bucket? -- asking questions of the children throughout to be sure they understood the stories' messages. The children listened intently, responding politely.
After finishing the books, Scott gave the children a chance to ask their own questions.
