Florida Rep. Radel rips 'childish' White House decision to end tours
Freshman Florida Rep. Trey Radel, R-Fort Myers, popped off a letter today to President Obama after news that the White House said it was ending tours due to sequestration budget cuts.
"Americans around the country face considerable economic hardships in their own family budgets. Your decision to suspend the tours conducted through the White House Visitor’s Office does not reflect the tough decisions that they have made throughout your presidency. Instead, this childish and unacceptable decision seems intended to maximize pain felt by your sequester," Radel wrote.
"Political leaders should be setting an example. Instead, you have chosen to disappoint thousands of children, veterans of this country, and decent hard-working Americans who are making the effort to visit the 'People’s House' in Washington."
