Former Florida reporter joins Democratic opposition research group
A Florida investigative reporter and four-time Pulitzer Prize winner has gone to work for American Bridge, the Democratic research group.
Sydney P. Freedberg worked for years at the Miami Herald and St. Petersburg Times (now the Tampa Bay Times) and had stints at the Detroit News, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and, most recently Scripps.
"Sydney Freedberg is a fantastic addition to the American Bridge team and has already used her finely tuned research skills to help us keep politicians accountable," said American Bridge 21st Century President Jessica Mackler. "Sydney's talent for uncovering political corruption makes her an excellent hire to our research team. We are thrilled to have her joining us."
Freedberg, who at the Herald and Times wrote a number of in-depth stories about Jeb Bush, said: "My career in investigative reporting has taught me invaluable skills for holding public officials accountable. I'm excited to channel those skills and passion in my work with American Bridge in order to help bring the truth to light."
American Bridge describes itself as a “progressive research and communications organization committed to holding Republicans accountable for their words and actions and helping you ascertain when Republican candidates are pretending to be something they’re not.”
