Gov. Rick Scott signs texting ban
Gov. Rick Scott just made Florida the 41st state to ban texting while driving by signing SB 52.
The effort to get a ban passed in Florida has been pushed in large part by state Sen. Nancy Detert, R-Venice. In a profile by Times/Herald staff writer Rochelle Koff, Detert said the push was "like climbing up a mountain."
Scott signed the legislation during a ceremony at Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High School in Miami.
