Gov. Rick Scott will kick off GOP Sunshine Summit on Friday
Gov. Rick Scott will give brief remarks at the GOP Sunshine Summit with presidential candidates on Friday.
Earlier today we were told he would give opening and closing remarks, but it turns out he will only be at the event from 11 a.m. until noon Friday and speak once according to Brecht Heuchan, spokesman for Scott's Let's Get to Work Political Committee.
The fact that Scott and the party separately organized summits shows the rocky relationship the governor has had with RPOF in recent months since the party group elected a chairman, Rep. Blaise Ingoglia, rather than Scott’s preferred candidate.
Ingoglia kicks off the speeches Friday at 11, followed by Scott, CFO Jeff Atwater and U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio. Later in the day former Gov. Jeb Bush also speaks in addition to U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, Donald Trump and Ben Carson.
