Gov. Scott, legislative leaders, Senate candidates to outline agendas in Tallahassee
Gov. Rick Scott, legislative leaders and U.S. Senate candidates today will speak in Tallahassee in anticipation of the 2016 legislative session and the election.
At the annual planning session, put on by the Associated Press, Scott, Senate President Andy Gardiner, R-Orlando, and House Speaker Steve Crisafulli, R-Merritt Island, are expected to outline their priorities for the lawmaking session, which begins Jan. 12, 2016.
Democratic leaders Sen. Arthenia Joyner, D-Tampa, and Mark Pafford, D-West Palm Beach, will speak as well. Five candidates to replace Marco Rubio in the Senate will be on hand as well: Republicans Ron DeSantis, David Jolly and Carlos Lopez-Cantera, and Democrats Alan Grayson and Patrick Murphy.
