Gov. Scott will lead Florida delegation to air show in England

Gov. Rick Scott planned to fly to England his weekend as the leader of a delegation of at least 44 Floridians at the annual Farnborough International Air Show, an aerospace trade exhibition.

Scott's travel party includes Florida Power & Light CEO Eric Silagy; Gulf Power CEO Stan Connally; Space Florida CEO Frank DiBello; and Florida Realtors president Maria Wells-Sturm. Utility executives Silagy and Connally both serve on the board of Enterprise Florida, the state's public-private job recruitment agency that organized the trade mission -- the first since CEO Bill Johnson officially departed.

Enterprise Florida is coping with staff cuts and closings of overseas offices on orders from the governor, but is sending six staff members to the show, led by senior VP Manny Mencia, according to a list of participants released by EFI.
