Hillary Clinton to make appeal to young voters during Florida stop Friday

30

September

Hillary Clinton will continue to confront her challenge with young voters during a speech in Port St. Lucie today in which she will outline a new National Service Reserve.

The candidate “will issue a broad call for national service, asking young people to be part of something bigger than themselves,” according to a campaign aide.

Clinton will announce new plans for young people to engage in community service, through a dedicated new national program to specifically help those under 30 to participate in service opportunities.

“Service has always been part of Clinton’s life and belief system. Instead of joining a top law firm after graduating from law school, Clinton worked for the Children’s Defense Fund,” the campaign said. “She believes that one of the best things about America is how many people want to pitch in and help, whether by rebuilding schools, cleaning up neighborhoods, helping people find jobs or families find housing, or any of a million other kinds of service Americans perform every day.”

Clinton has spent recent days trying to motivate young voters, who were an essential part of Barack Obama's wins in 2008 and 2012 but are less inspired this election.
