Jeb Bush campaign calls Marco Rubio 'GOP Obama'
Jeb Bush’s campaign dismissed Marco Rubio as “a GOP Obama” during a briefing for donors in Houston on Monday that sought to calm frayed nerves.
“Marco is a GOP Obama,” read part of an extensive slideshow about the campaign, including polling and details about campaign ad spending.
“Rubio and President Obama have strikingly similar profiles: first-term senators, lawyers, and university lecturers, served in part time state legislatures for eight years, had few legislative accomplishments and haven’t shown much interest in the process of advancing legislation and getting results.”
Donors were also told that Rubio has only one endorsement from Florida’s congressional delegation (Tom Rooney) while Bush has 11 and that Rubio doesn’t have a single endorsement from a fellow U.S. Senator.
The meeting opened with a presentation from Sally Bradshaw, who outlined five things “you need to know right now:”
1-Press obsession with process will not determine primary outcome.
2-Race will remain fluid for some time because…volatile electorate.
