Jolly provides his own example of lobbying: For U.S. Marshals funding
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has been hammering Republican congressional candidate David Jolly because because of his years working as a Washington-based lobbyist.
On Friday Jolly's campaign struck back with its own example of lobbying, by releasing a statement from Mark Lunsford, whose daughter Jessica was abducted and killed by a pedophile in Citrus County.
The statement says:
“For two weeks, I have watched the DCCC and Alex Sink lie about who David is and what type of work he did when he traveled to D.C. Well, enough is enough,” said Mark Lunsford, whose 9-year-old daughter was killed in 2005 by a child predator. When I told him I was having trouble in Washington to get funding for the Marshals Service, he offered to help, for free.”
"David helped secure funding for the Marshals Service - he helped me when no one else would and he wanted nothing in return. So, when I see commercials and articles in the paper with accusations of what kind of work David did, I have to speak up because I know who David Jolly really is. He is a good man, a hardworking man, a friend and an advocate for those in need. And he gets things done in Washington, for all of us. And yes, that should make Alex Sink and the Democrats in Washington nervous, because he’s the right person for this job."
