Obamacare Florida: 3,571 people have selected plan on new marketplace
The Obama administration today said 3,571 people in Florida have selected insurance plans in the new Obamacare health exchanges, contributing to 106,185 nationally since enrollments began Oct. 1.
The numbers are strikingly low and will embolden critics while speaking to problems with the Healthcare.gov, the glitch plagued site where people to sign up. Most of the people signing up did through state-run exchanges. Florida, which refused to set up its own, falls under the federal marketplace.
HHS Secretary Katheleen Sebelius insisted during a conference call this afternoon that numbers are expected to rise and officials said the website errors are being fixed.
