Rubio and Nelson want U.S. to consider military strikes in Iraq
Florida Sens. Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson both said today that they want the U.S. to look at strikes against militants in Iraq.
"We must never forget the lessons of Sept. 11, 2001," Rubio said in a floor speech moments ago. "It was not that long ago..."
Sen. Bill Nelson attended a classified briefing on the situation earlier today and concluded the situation is grave. In an interview, Nelson said he would support drone strikes if the militants threatened the Iraqi government or Baghdad.
President Obama, facing another overseas crisis, said he is exploring all options. "I don’t rule out anything," he said earlier today.
