Rubio avoids immigration at debate but not in Wednesday TV blitz
Marco Rubio somehow managed to stay out of the immigration debate last night but it came up in interviews he did Wednesday morning that revealed how the Florida Republican continues to try to navigate the hard issue.
On CBS This Morning, Rubio seemed to suggest he is in favor of deporting parents of young immigrants who would qualify for President Obama’s Deferred Action for Parental Accountability, “DAPA,” plan that was just struck down by a court in Texas.
Immigration also came up on Good Morning America and Rubio finessed a question about mass deportation, which he does not favor. He outlined a three-step plan, beginning with enforcement. He also talked of "work permits" for people.
All of which is far removed from Rubio's work on the Senate's comprehensive immigration bill.
