Rubio, Christie and the politics of a blizzard
Superstorm Jonas left a mark politically.
First Democrats seized on Marco Rubio’s flip remarks over the weekend about the massive blizzard being “one of the best things to happen to the republic in quite a while,” casting Rubio as out of touch.
Then came Rubio’s GOP rival Chris Christie, who said Sunday on CNN that it showed “a real immaturity,” noting a number of storm-related deaths.
But Christie may be feeling it himself. The New Jersey governor is back on the campaign trial after declaring his state “dodged a bullet.” He did say coastal flooding could be an issue but this NBC News report implies it was worse than Christie stated.
