Rubio defends immigration reform critics against 'Gang of Hate' label
Sen. Marco Rubio lashed out this morning at a pro-immigration reform group that attacked critics of the legislation Rubio helped write as the "Gang of Hate."
"With the Senate immigration mark-up set to kick off next week, a new website by America’s Voice Education Fund sheds light on key immigration reform opponents in the Senate--Sens. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), John Cornyn (R-TX), Ted Cruz (R-TX), and David Vitter (R-LA)—and highlights their deep ties to anti-immigrant hate groups as well as their record on immigration reform as well as other issues," the group said.
But Rubio, who is battling conservative opposition, tweeted "@amaricasvoice smear calling Senators #gangofhate is a disgrace. I disagree with them on parts of #immigrationreform but they are not haters."
