Rubio joins Nelson to help confirm John Brennan to CIA post
Last night, Sen. Marco Rubio got creative, quoting Wiz Khalifa and The Godfather, as he joined Sen. Rand Paul's filibuster of the nomination of John Brennan to head the CIA.
But this afternoon Rubio joined Florida Sen. Bill Nelson and a majority of other senators to confirm Brennan. Rubio said he was satisfied that Paul had gotten his answer from the Obama administration over whether it had authority to order a drone strike against an American on U.S. soil.
"Now that the question has been answered and the President has acknowledged that he does not, in fact, possess such authority, I intend to support cloture on John Brennan’s nomination and will vote to confirm him," Rubio wrote.
Paul voted no.
