Sen. Marco Rubio flew with President Obama on Air Force One to Orlando today, the White House said.

Also flying with Obama was Rep. Corrine Brown of Jacksonville. Sen. Bill Nelson flew down on Air Force Two with Vice President Joe Biden.

Biden and Nelson met Obama on the tarmac along with Gov. Rick Scott, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs.

WH spokesman Eric Schultz told reporters that he anticipated Obama and Rubio would have a "conversation" on the flight. The White House invited the Florida Republican.

"This is a moment where Democrats and Republicans can come together and show that in the wake of a horrific attack, when one community is attacked in the United States of America, the United States of America stands together and united to help,' Schultz said.
