UPDATE Wednesday: The Senate also voted to confirm Jack Lew as treasury secretary. Bill Nelson voted yes; Marco Rubio voted no.
The U.S. Senate this afternoon voted 58-41 to confirm Chuck Hagel as the next defense secretary, ending a partisan fight.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio voted against Hagel, while Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson voted for him.
