Rubio's fundraising draws Twitter barb
Marco Rubio has a big fundraiser in Washington today and American Bridge has turned that into an attack.
The liberal group is running a Twitter ad in Florida that highlights Rubio fundraising before an actual campaign event.
Rubio entered the race last week so fundraising is a priority; he reportedly thinks the race could cost $40 million to $50 million.
American Bridge spokesman Brad Bainum said there’s a reason the Florida Republican is “hiding” from constituents. “Skipping hearings and missing votes for six years, then offering his inability to get things done as an excuse, Rubio by any measure failed to represent the Florida voters that elected him.”
Asked for comment, Rubio advisor Alex Conant said: “After the disastrous revelations about his made-up resume, Democrats in D.C. have so little confidence in Patrick Murphy that all their Super PAC is willing to do is spend money promoting a tweet that they released yesterday and no one noticed.”
