Stemberger: Faith leaders 'elated' by Rubio's Senate campaign

John Stemberger, president of Florida Family Action, endorsed Marco Rubio for Senate, calling him "the future."

"Given the rapidly changing demographics of America, we need strategic candidates with widespread appeal beyond the base who are still committed to core Republican principles and who can communicate those ideas winsomely.  In this regard, Marco is Reaganesque in a way that is almost unparalleled in modern American history.

"Rubio is solid on our issues. Florida faith leaders that I have spoken to in every corner of the state are elated by Marco's decision to seek reelection. Throughout his time in the US Senate he has been a consistent and steadfast voice for all Floridians who believe in the sanctity of human life, the institution of marriage, and the constitutional principle of freedom of religion. There is simply no other candidate running who comes close to Marco's record on the issues most important to Florida families and Floridians of faith.  Marco Rubio has not just been a reliable vote on issues of concern to Florida’s Evangelical Christians and Faithful Catholics, he has been a trusted and proven champion.

"Florida needs Marco Rubio. Given the high turn-over of Florida’s 2016 Congressional delegation and the uncertainty of who will lead in the White House, Marco’s seniority, coupled with his command of foreign policy, will serve Floridians well by keeping the President in check and representing the unique interests and growing demands of the Sunshine State."
