Trump ally Roger Stone publishing books attacking Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush
Roger Stone, the notorious dirty trickster, former Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan operative, and Donald Trump adviser, is jumping into the conspiracy theorist game with both feet.
He hit the New York Times bestseller list in 2013 with The Man Who Killed Kennedy: The Case Against LBJ, and coming out shortly is The Clintons' War on Women, co-authored with a fringe Clinton hater we profiled in 2008. After that comes his book on Jeb Bush, which is due out in January and does not sound like a tribute: Jeb! and the Bush Crime Family.
It's worth noting that Bush is probably Trump's biggest obstacle to the GOP nomination, while Clinton would be his rival should Trump defy the doubters and win the nomination (or run as a third party candidate). Trump earned loads of publicity when he announced in August he had quit Donald Trump's campaign, though he continues to publicly praise his longtime client.
For what it's worth, we don't believe him about no longer having anything to do with the Trump campaign. (Stone's Rules: "“Nothing is on the level” and "Admit nothing, deny everything, launch counterattack"). But we have no proof he is not directly helping Trump, and it doesn't matter anyway. He will continue to be part of the conversation.
