Trump dropping suit to keep planes from flying near Mar-a-Lago
From the Sun Sentinel:
Donald Trump is expected to drop a $100 million lawsuit over Palm Beach International Airport, now that winning the presidency may keep planes from buzzing over his Palm Beach estate.
A Trump representative on Monday notified Palm Beach County that the 2015 lawsuit would be voluntarily dismissed, County Attorney Denise Nieman said via email.
Trump for two decades has waged a legal fight with the county to try to keep noisy aircraft traffic away from Mar-a-Lago — his oceanfront club and part-time residence.
Yet thanks to security precautions, the president-elect may not need a lawsuit to keep planes away from the historic estate.
The Federal Aviation Administration has already created a temporary no-fly zone over Trump Tower in New York and is working with the U.S. Secret Service on potential flight restrictions when Trump is at Mar-a-Lago.
