TV ads in Florida ask Rubio, Nelson to oppose Trump's Treasury pick Mnuchin
Slowly but surely, President Donald Trump is getting his Cabinet nominees through the Senate. But that hasn’t stopped Democrats from trying to scuttle some and today, liberal groups are launching TV ads in Florida urging Sens. Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson to oppose Treasury pick Steven Mnuchin.
The ad features a widow who says she was misled and foreclosed on by Mnuchin's bank in California. "We did everything the bank asked. They lied to us and took our home anyway," the woman says. "John spent his last days terrified I’d be homeless, and then they kicked me out right after the funeral."
The ad is airing in Tampa, Orlando and Miami and is part of a "six-figure" buy that extends to markets in Missouri, Colorado, Delaware and Virginia. It is paid for by PCCC, Allied Progress Action, and Demand Progress Action, which had previously run the ad in Nevada, Arizona and Iowa.
