Wasserman Schultz has solid lead over Tim Canova, poll shows
Sorry, Bernie, but Debbie Wasserman Schultz isn't likely to lose her re-election fight with liberal Tim Canova.
She has a 10 percentage point lead over him in the Aug. 30 Democratic primary, according to a new South Florida Sun Sentinel/Florida Atlantic University poll.
"He's doing better, at least in our polling numbers, than typically a challenger to an incumbent does," FAU political scientist Kevin Wagner told the Sentinel. "Ideally, if you're the incumbent, you'd like to have a bigger cushion. But I don't think there's an election where a person looks at a poll and sees they're up by double digits and thinks that's a bad thing."
