Will Ferrell returns to SNL as George W. Bush to take on GOP hopefuls
Will Ferrell returned to Saturday Night Live as President George W. Bush this weekend to poke fun at the current GOP presidential hopefuls.
As Bush, Ferrell said he had decided to run for president again because "the field of Republicans out there is so messed it up it makes you miss me, doesn't it?"
He then critiqued the front-runners, saying Ben Carson talks too softly and "running the country is not brain surgery."
Of Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, the fake Bush said, "Cruz and Rubio. Rubio and Cruz. Sounds like a Miami law firm. If you've been injured on the job call Rubio-Cruz. These two guys, the sons of immigrants, hate immigrants."
He called Donald Trump a knucklehead with an orange Ommpa Loompa face.
And then he came to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
"Poor Jeb," he said. "You gotta admit it turned out to be a pretty good plot twist that I turned out to be the smart one."
Ferrell went on to say, "Of course, I wish he would have asked me about the exclamation point on the end of his name. Look, I don't like the taste of broccoli, but it doesn't get any tastier if you call it BROCCOLI!"
