Winner and loser of the week in Fla politics



Tough week in Florida politics:

Loser of the week 1

Jeb Bush.  The news seems to grow bleaker by the day. Polls last week showed him with just 3 percent to 5 percent support nationally, and 5 percent in Iowa.

Loser of the week 2

Alan Grayson. When your top three campaign staffers jump ship, it usually signals trouble. Cue the speculation that Congressman Bull in a China Shop quits his Senate campaign and runs instead for re-election to the U.S. House.

Loser of the week 3

Rick Baker. If the former St. Pete mayor really is looking seriously at running for Pinellas County’s new heavily Democratic congressional district, the challenge became tougher with Republican Mark Bircher, a retired brigadier general, filing to run.

Loser of the week 4

Gwen Graham: The Supreme Court finalized the new congressional district lines, and the Tallahassee Democrat is left representing a congressional district virtually unwinnable by any Democrat
