Winner and loser of the week in Florida politics

Winner of the week

Rick Wilson. The Tallahassee-based Republican/#NeverTrump consultant managing independent candidate Evan McMullin's indpendent presidential campaign won't be able to vote for McMullin, who failed to make it onto Florida's ballot. But his candidate has a good shot at winning Utah, several polls show. An election night map with more colors than just red and blue would be a big deal/

Loser of the week

Brenda Snipes. Upholding South Florida’s reputation for botched ballots, Broward County’s elections chief was unable to say how many ballots went out without the Amendment 2 medical marijuana question included or how it happened.

Loser of the week 2

Tom Murphy Jr. The multimillionaire father of Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Patrick Murphy has already pumped at least $2.8 million into helping his son beat Republican Sen. Marco Rubio. Now, with polls showing the race tightening and national Democratic groups targeting other Senate races, Daddy Warbucks is pressed to dig deeper into his wallet.
