Bettis out at NBC?
According to Newsday's Neil Best, analyst Jerome Bettis will not have his contract renewed by NBC for next season's Sunday Night Football. NBC already has a cast of thousands and it probably would be a good idea to not even replace Bettis. Then again, the pregame show did lose analyst Cris Collinsworth, who moves to the game booth to replace John Madden. If NBC is intent on replacing Bettis, one possible name already has surfaced: former NFL quarterback Brett Favre. That, of course, is assuming that Favre is actually done playing. If NBC was really smart, it would swoop in and steal Jon Gruden from the NFL Network.
