35 years ago today ...




It was 35 years ago today -- Oct. 21, 1975 -- that the Red Sox and Reds played, arguably, the greatest baseball game ever. Game 6 of the 1975 World Series started on Oct. 21, but didn't actually end until the wee hours of Oct. 22 when Boston catcher Carlton Fisk hit his famous home run that gave the Sox a 7-6 victory and forced a Game 7, which the Reds won. Here's the box score from the game that featured Bernie Carbo's game-tying three-run homer in the eighth, Dwight Evans sensational catch in right field in extra innings and, of course, Fisk's famous homer.
