Umps ESPN the Magazine polled 100 major-league players, asking them a series of questions about umpires. In the end, Jim Joyce, the umpire who cost Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga a perfect game, was named baseball's best umpire, showing up on 53 percent of the ballots. He was followed by Tim McClelland (34 percent) and Jim Wolf (15 percent). Meantime, CB Bucknor was named the worst umpire, showing up on 37 percent of the ballots.
