Brett Favre now a verb
"Brett Favre'' also can now be used as a verb. If it were in the dictionary, it would be mean "to waver, to jerk around, to leave up in the air.'' There might be another usage, something having to do with sending texts, but that's not what Yankees general manager Brian Cashman meant when he used Favre as a verb on Wednesday.
Talking about whether or not pitcher Andy Pettitte would return to the Yankees this season, Cashman said he spoke to the big lefty and asked that not "Brett Favre the Yankees'' by mulling his decision for months.
Cashman said, "(Pettitte is) opting not to play right now, but that might change, it might not. I told him, 'Don’t Brett Favre us'. You got to be all in and fully dedicated to play. Do I need him? I need him, but I don't want him to play if his heart's not in it.''
