Bucs move up in Sports Illustrated power rankings
Whoo-hoo, the Bucs have moved up in Sports Illustrated's NFL power rankings. After beating the Browns on Sunday, the Bucs have made the jump from No. 31 to No. 29. They are the lowest-rated team that is 1-0 and they are still ranked behind 12 teams which lost their first game, including the 49ers (31-6 losers to Seattle), Raiders (38-13 losers to Tennessee) and the lowly Lions (19-14 losers to Chicago). Then again, it's hard to argue that the Bucs should be higher after squeaking at home past a bad Cleveland team.
Here's what SI NFL writer Don Banks says about the Bucs:
You can't face Jake Delhomme every week in the NFL, but kudos to the Bucs for taking care of business when they got their opportunity against Mr. Turnover. Opportunistic is how Tampa Bay has to play this year to get to five or six wins.
The Bucs are ranked ahead of the Rams, Bills and Browns. The Saints, Ravens and Packers are atop the power rankings. Click here for the entire list.
