Can Lincicome make a major run?

Brittany The U.S. Women's Open tees off Thursday at Oakmont Country Club near Pittsburgh. Can Seminole's Brittany Lincicome make a run at a second major? In 11 starts this year, Lincicome has two top 10 finishes, including losing in a playoff at the Bell Micro Classic in May in Mobile, Ala. Late last month at the LPGA Championship, Lincicome finished in a tie for 14th with an even-par 288. In six U.S. Opens, Lincicome has two top 10 finishes, including fifth last year. Working in her favor this week: Oakmont is a long course that favors big hitters and Lincicome is third in driving on the LPGA Tour at just more than 270 yards. On the downside, the rough at Oakmont is brutal and Lincicome is tied for 136th in driving accuracy. But let's think postiive. Another thing in Lincicome's favor? The weather. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-90s with high humidity. Suffocating in Pittsburgh, but pretty normal stuff for someone from Florida. Lincicome, who won a major in 2009 at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, will be in the fifth group going out Thursday with a 7:44 a.m. tee time. She tees off at 1:14 p.m. on Friday. The tournament will be on ESPN2 Thursday and Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. and on NBC Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m.
