Check it out/Tuesday night
For a weekday night, plenty to watch tonight. Here are a few things to note ...
E:60 (7 p.m. on ESPN)
The ESPN news magazine show returns Tuesday night with a new episode. One of the stories has a local angle. Reporter Rachel Nichols does a piece called "Danger in the Air,'' which investigates the air quality in ice rinks around the country and pays special attention to an incident the Times reported in January where several hockey players became ill at the Tampa Bay Skating Academy in Oldsmar. Players, coaches, parents and the owner of the rink are interviewed in the piece. Sen. Mike Fasano, R-New Port Richey, also is scheduled to appear. Other stories on the show include a profile of wrestling king Vince McMahon, a feature on Northern State basketball coach Don Meyer and a baseball story about the batting stance.
Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel (10 p.m. on HBO)
This latest installment of HBO's excellent enterprise show includes a profile of Phillies manager Charlie Manuel, the devastating sting of shootings of young athletes in Hampton Roads, Virginia and the movement to ban dodge ball in schools.
The NFL schedule
Documented proof that we officially have run out of things to put on television. The NFL Network and ESPN are running shows on the release of the NFL schedule. The NFL Network will air its show from 7 to 9 p.m. and then rerun it for the rest of the night. Meantime, ESPN2 will carry the first hour of its coverage at 7 p.m. and then it will switch over to ESPN at 8 p.m. for two more hours.
The Lineup (6 p.m. on BHSN)
A live preview of the Rays-Yankees game as well as an interview with Florida State football player and Rhodes Scholar Myron Rolle.
