Cleveland writer disses the Bucs
If you don't sell out your NFL games, people are going to make fun of you. For example, Cleveland Plain-Dealer sportswriter Chuck Yarborough writes:
The Browns have been anything but good since returning to the NFL as an expansion team in 1999. Ticket sales in midseason and beyond have been dicey. But not selling out a home opener? What kind of football team is that bad?
Uh, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?
You can read his whole take by clicking here, including the eye-rolling, groan-inducing, tired cliche of calling Tampa Bay "God's Waiting Room.'' (Get it? Old people live here.) Seriously, there about 4,000 things to make fun of about Florida and you pass them all up to go for yucks with a joke whose statute of limitations ran out like 20 years ago?
The good news is the Bucs will have trouble avoiding blackouts for the entire season so there are plenty of chances for other writers to come up with something more clever.
