Doug Williams' team without an owner



rsz_3819497.jpgThe United Football League team for which Doug Williams left the Bucs to become general manager still lacks a nickname.

And now, the franchise finds itself without an owner as well.

Virginia businessman Jim Speros and the UFL could not come to terms on a deal for the Norfolk franchise, which is scheduled to begin play in 2011, the Virginian-Pilot reports. As a result, the league has taken over the team.

Williams, a former Bucs quarterback who was MVP of Super Bowl XXII for the Redskins, parted ways with the Bucs as their pro scouting director in May.
