Hardy Nickerson to coach high school team

Hardy Hardy Nickerson is going to back to high school ... to coach. The former Bucs linebacker was hired Thursday as the new head football coach at Bishop O'Dowd High in Oakland. Nickerson's son, Hardy Jr., is a sophomore for the team. Nickerson was Bishop O'Dowd's linebackers coach last year. Nickerson played 16 seasons in the NFL, including with the Bucs from 1993 to 1999 when he was a five-time Pro Bowler. After retirement, Nickerson spent the 2006 season as a radio analyst on Bucs broadcasts and the 2007 season as a linebackers coach for the Bears. Here's the Oakland Tribune story on Nickerson becoming a high school head coach
