It's not always sunny in Philadelphia

Ah, the great American pasttime. Peanuts, Cracker Jack and ... Tasers. Last night in the eighth inning of the Phillies-Cardinals game at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, a 17-year-old kid ran onto the field and was brought down by a police officer using a Taser. Certainly no one condones running onto the field at a sporting event and normally we don't have much sympathy in these parts for Phillies fans, but doesn't using a Taser seem a bit excessive? According to this story from the Philadelphia Inquirer, it's the first time a Taser has been used in Philly to subdue a field jumper and the Phillies and Philadelphia police will investigate to see if this is an appropriate use of force. The photo above is from the Inquirer and here's a video shot by a fan of the incident.
