Lightning grades well through first quarter of season
What kind of grade would you give the Lightning through the first quarter of the NHL season? One of ESPN's excellent hockey guys, Scott Burnside, gives the Lightning a B. Sounds about right. Here's what Burnside writes about the Bolts:
There is a lot to like about the Lightning, one of the most dynamic teams in the NHL under rookie coach Guy Boucher. The Lightning should get Vincent Lecavalier back before the end of the month, but they will miss Steve Downie, who is out long term with a high ankle sprain. The real issue for the Bolts, though, is getting enough quality goaltending from the inconsistent duo of Mike Smith and Dan Ellis. They have to be better if the Lightning are going to make the playoffs for the first time in four seasons.
