A look at the Bucs draft -- this year and next year
Sports Illustrated senior football writer Peter King wrote he was "intrigued'' by the Bucs draft and that Bucs GM Mark Dominik told him it's possible that the team's first five picks all could be on the field on opening day. Here's King's column, which also includes why Tim Tebow might be the Broncos starting quarterback next season.
Meantime, speaking of Sports Illustrated and the draft, it's never too early for a 2011 mock draft. This one has the Bucs taking Clemson defensive tackle Da'Quan Bowers with the second pick. Ouch.
And SI lists its top 40 draft prospects for next season in this column. North Carolina defensive end Robert Quinn, who will still be an underclassman, is ranked first, followed by Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett and Alabama wide receiver Julius Jones. What's surprising is only one player from a Florida school is listed -- Florida guard Michael Pouncey at No. 31.
