NHL's schedule makes no sense

Hockey So, hockey fans, you have two playoff games tonight. The question is ... why? The Flyers-Canadiens Eastern Conference final and the Sharks-Blackhawks Western final both opened on Sunday. And now both series have a Game 2 tonight. Wouldn't you want your conference finals being played every other day to keep your sport in the headlines every day instead of being dark every other day? And what if tonight's Flyers-Habs game goes to overtime or, worse, double or triple overtime? It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility, and hockey fans would miss a good chunk of one of the games when the problem could be easily avoided by scheduling one game a night. After tonight, the series will start alternating days starting on Thursday. But playing Games 1 and 2 in both series on the same day doesn't make sense. Then again, half of things that NHL does makes no sense. It's a wonder they have any feet left after all the times they've shot themselves in the foot.
