Punishment over Tebow joke must be color blind
A couple of years back, radio talk-show host Don Imus made a few "jokes'' about the Rutgers women's basketball team, calling them nappy-headed ho's,'' A few days ago, a radio sports-talk host in Boston made a "joke'' about Tim Tebow being a Nazi. So, what's the difference other than neither "joke'' was funny? None, says AOL Fanhouse columnist David Whitley. Imus was fired by CBS for his remarks, but let's see what happens to this particular host, also employed by CBS. Whitley writes:
But my opinion, your opinion and Tebow's opinion shouldn't count. What matters whether CBS and others are going to be consistent. If not, this will be great fodder for Rush Limbaugh and anyone who likes bash double standards and political correctness.
When CBS President Leslie Moonves fired Imus, he said "There has been much discussion of the effect language like this has on our young people, particularly young women of color trying to make their way in this society."
