Rays step up with Los Lobos

Lobos I'm still recovering from the crushing news last week that the Go-Go's will not be playing after an upcoming Rays game. They have canceled the rest of their reunion tour because guitarist Jane Wieldlin injured both of her legs in a fall. But now my spirits are lifted again thanks to the Rays adding the best post-game concert yet. No, not Vanilla Ice. I'm talking about Los Lobos, which will play after the Rays-Yankees game on July 30. This is one of the most talented and under-appreciated bands of all-time. Most people know them for their cover of "La Bamba'' for the movie, but that's only a sliver of what these guys have done. This Grammy-winning band out of East L.A. has been around for more than 30 years playing their hip blend of rock, Tex-Mex, country, folk, R&B, blues and jazz. Their album, Kiko, is one of the best albums of the 1990s. Anyway, thanks to the Rays for stepping up and bringing in the best band they've brought in so far. To celebrate, here's a classic Los Lobos song for you.
