Tiger tees off
Apparently, it's okay to cheat on your wife with who knows how many porn stars, Perkins' waitresses, neighbor's daughters and others. If you can hit a golf ball long and straight, you're all right by golf fans. Tiger Woods received an overwhelming ovation before and after his opening tee shot on Thursday at the Masters -- his first golf shot since Woods' sex scandal started to break last Thanksgiving weekend. Woods is playing his first tournament in 144 days. For the record, Woods hammered his tee shot dead solid perfect down the middle of the fairway. Woods' second shot was on the green. He just missed a birdie putt and settled for par
"I gotta believe there was a big exhale,'' ESPN golf analyst Andy North said. ESPN's Scott Van Pelt described the fans as giving Woods "a loud roar'' after his first drive.
There were no boos, no hecklers. And, when you think about it, the ovation is really not that surprising. Just look at how those such as Alex Rodriguez and Manny Ramirez were welcomed by cheers after returning last season from steroid scandals. It appears that most fans only care about what goes on between the lines or, in this case, between the ropes.
