Turnabout is fair play
Ok, Seminoles fans.
Today, ESPN.com turns the harsh light of history on you, ranking Florida State's 26-25 loss to Miami in 1987 28th on its list of the 50 Most Painful Outcomes in College Football History.
As you've no doubt tried to forget, the Seminoles led 19-3 before the Hurricanes roared back with 23 straight points, capped by a 73-yard touchdown pass from Steve Walsh to Michael Irvin.
A 75-yard scoring drive brought Florida State to within a point in the final minute, and Bobby Bowden elected to go for the win. However, Bubba McDowell knocked down Danny McManus' two-point conversion pass, ending the Seminoles' hopes.
Oh, and did I mention that Miami went on to win the national championship?
Now, that hurts.
