Urban Meyer bans Twitter at Ohio State
Buckeyes do not tweet. That's the edict handed down from new Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer. The former Gators coach has banned the use of Twitter for his football team.
Just hours after taking over as the Buckeyes coach, Meyer laid down the no-Twitter rule, which was confirmed by several players ... on Twitter.
Anyway, some might think Meyer is being a little too paranoid, but really, it's probably a good idea to ban college-age kids from the social network site where they can say whatever they want without an editor. In the end, it's probably best just to ban Twitter now and not have to deal with cleaning up messes later. Meyer is not the first coach to ban Twitter. Several others, including South Carolina and another former Gators coach Steve Spurrier, also have banned Twitter for their teams.
