World Woods, Innisbrook earn acclaim
Two Tampa Bay area golf courses are ranked among the Top 100 Courses You Can Play by Golf.com.
World Woods' Pine Barrens course in Brooksville is No. 18. Innisbrook Resort's Copperhead course in Palm Harbor is No. 79.
Here is what Golf.com says about Pine Barrens, pictured at left:
Pine Barrens is the signature course for the club. It is a tight, intimidating layout named for its large number of pine trees and barren waste areas. The design demands many long carry shots over waste areas, as well as delicate placement shots to small landing areas. Generally, trees come into play on either the left or right side of each fairway, but rarely both. Two small lakes also come into play on this course.

Site of the PGA Tour's Transitions Championship, the Innisbrook's Copperhead course is long, with undulating hills and extremely narrow fairways lined by tall pine trees. The signature hole is the 16th, a 475-yard, par 4 that doglegs around a lake.
