The other party of greed
Looks like Washington honchos - most if not all Democrats - benefitted from the lax lending stardards at federally-backed mortgage lender Fannie Mae.
Just goes to show that corporate greed isn't restricted to the Republican Party, as the old stereotype has it.
Fannie Mae has been a preserve of the Dems since it was created during the New Deal. According to the editorial up above, it's been used more or less as a slush fund for well-connected politicos of a particular political stripe (Friends of Bill Clinton).
But you probably knew that already.
