Wake up and good morning. Three Florida Chrysler dealerships will plead their cases in separate arbitration hearings today. The dealers, closed last  year in the Chrysler shake-up, federal bailout and subsequent company takeover by Italy's Fiat, want the chance to rejoin the auto maker's network.

Chrysler closed 789 dealerships last year as part of its bankruptcy and agreement to merge its assets with Fiat. According to Automotive News, the three former Florida dealers are Bob Taylor Jeep in Naples, Deland Dodge and Venice Dodge.  

Bob Taylor Jeep will argue it performed effectively, was sufficiently capitalized, helped Chrysler and was an asset to its community, Sandra Taylor told Automotive News. She and husband Bob Taylor own the rejected dealership, which had the Jeep franchise since 1983 but was terminated last May as part of Chrysler's bankruptcy. Chrysler awarded a Jeep franchise to another dealership in the market in December, not long before President Barack Obama signed legislation providing arbitration for Chrysler Group and General Motors Co. stores seeking reinstatement, Taylor said. Here is the Automotive News story. 

Taylor's arbitration hearing will be held jointly with Deland Dodge and Venice Dodge. Chrysler's first dealer arbitration case involving the closure of Joe Kidd Dodge in Cincinnati took place last week. Both sides, says a Wall Street Journal story, now have an opportunity to file their legal briefs and a decision could be made within the next couple of weeks.
