Electric utilities serving Tampa Bay area again rate lowest among peers in customer satisfaction
Wake up and good morning. Once again, JD Power's annual survey of satisfaction of residential customers over their electric utility shows area utilities Progress Energy Florida and Tampa Electric -- the two power companies providing electricity to most of Tampa Bay and west central Florida -- are bottom of the barrel.

And here's the chart (below) that shows the low rankings of Progress Energy Florida and Tampa Electric (which is owned by TECO Energy). Take note how Progress Energy Carolinas (sister company to Progress Energy Florida) is rated well above average. And look at how FPL, the big utility serving South Florida also is above average.
